Over 4,000 Teachers Demand 16 Months of Unpaid Salaries from Ghanaian Government.

A coalition known as the Coalition of Unpaid Teachers and Arrears – Ghana is urgently calling for the payment of outstanding salaries owed to over 4,000 teachers employed by the Ghana Education Service (GES). These educators, who have not received their salaries since their permanent employment in 2023, are owed between 7 to 16 months of arrears due to administrative delays in processing their employment documentation.The group expressed their frustration in a statement, highlighting the severe financial strain and challenges they have faced due to their unpaid salaries, which has impacted their ability to perform their teaching duties effectively.
