Galatasaray chief denies owing Osimhen, teammates salaries

Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek has dismissed viral reports claiming that the Turkish club owes Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen and other star players unpaid salaries. He described the stories as misleading and damaging, insisting that Galatasaray has met all its financial obligations to the squad in line with their contracts. Ozbek said it would be impossible for top professionals to keep playing if they were not paid for two or three months, adding that suggesting otherwise insults the players’ professionalism. He stressed that the club has not defaulted “on a single lira” in salary payments and that bonuses and incentive clauses are also settled on time. Club executives also pointed to Galatasaray’s recent financial clearance from UEFA as proof that the team is run on a disciplined payment schedule, with player wages typically paid ahead of usual European timelines. Osimhen scores 10th Super Lig goal in Galatasaray win

Victor Osimhen has scored his 10th league goal of the season in the Turkish Super Lig, helping Galatasaray to a 3–1 home victory over Alanyaspor. The Super Eagles striker also provided an assist in the game, as the Turkish champions extended their lead at the top of the table. Galatasaray took the lead just before half time, but Alanyaspor equalised early in the second half, forcing the hosts to raise their tempo. Osimhen was involved in the move that restored Galatasaray’s advantage, with his attempted bicycle kick leading to a loose ball that teammate Lucas Torreira fired into the net. UCL: Osimhen to Miss Gala’s UCL Tie Against Saint-Gilloise

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen will be absent for Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League fixture against Belgium’s Union Saint-Gilloise due to a minor hamstring tear picked up in international duty. Osimhen was substituted off at halftime during Nigeria’s World Cup qualifier with DR Congo and returned to his club for immediate treatment. Initial scans confirm a minor injury expected to sideline him for several days. Osimhen, top scorer in the competition with six goals, will be re-evaluated on Friday to determine his availability for upcoming fixtures, including the crucial Turkish league derby with Fenerbahce. He was seen supporting Galatasaray from the stands and exiting with teammate Henry Onyekuru. His absence opens the opportunity for rivals Harry Kane, Erling Haaland, and Kylian Mbappé, each only one goal behind, to overtake him in the Champions League scoring charts.
