Man United post profit as debt climbs to £1.29bn
Manchester United have reported an operating profit of £32.6 million for the six months to 31 December 2025, a sharp turnaround from the £3.9 million loss recorded in the same period a year earlier. However, the club’s total debt burden has risen to about £1.29 billion. United drew down an extra £25 million on their rolling credit facility, taking that borrowing to £295.7 million, while legacy debt from the Glazer takeover and other liabilities, mostly unpaid transfer fees, account for more than £500 million. The club also paid £13.9 million in net finance costs over the period, although this was far lower than the £37.6 million paid the previous year.
