15 Injured in Major Road Crash in Ogun State

Fifteen people suffered injuries in a major road accident on Monday at Omoyele Junction along the Sagamu–Ikorodu Expressway in Ogun State. The crash involved an unregistered Mack truck, a Toyota Highlander, a Suzuki minibus, and a motorcycle. According to TRACE spokesperson Babatunde Akinbiyi, the accident happened when the truck’s brakes failed due to excessive speed, causing it to crash into the other vehicles. Emergency services responded quickly, treating 12 male and 3 female victims at the scene and clearing the wrecked vehicles to restore traffic flow. On the same day, a separate truck carrying containers also crashed at Ijagun along the Ijebu-Ode–Benin Expressway, blocking the road and causing delays. Petrol Tanker Explodes on Bida-Agaei Road in Niger State

A petrol tanker has exploded after skidding off the Bida-Agaei road in Niger State. The accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon, causing a massive fire. The Niger State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Hajiya Aishatu Sa’adu, confirmed the incident. She stated that the exact number of casualties is not yet known, as rescue operations are still ongoing at the scene. The explosion has led to a serious traffic gridlock on the busy expressway. The FRSC also noted that the poor condition of the road hampered their emergency response time.

Police Announce Roadblocks and Traffic Diversions for Accra Special Operation.

The Ghana Police Service has rolled out roadblocks and diversions in Accra as part of a special security operation from September 21 to 24, 2024.
