The Central Regional Police Command has confirmed that 14 individuals have been arrested in connection with a recent chieftaincy dispute in Agona Abodom, with five victims of the violence treated and discharged from the hospital. The incident unfolded during the annual Akwanbo Festival when rival factions—fueled by the long-standing contest over the local stool—clashed in the farming community. According to Central Regional Deputy PRO Chief Inspector Isaac Entie, the police evacuated and provided medical care to five individuals who sustained injuries, all of whom have since been discharged. The suspects, including their alleged leader Akwesi Asare, were transferred to Accra to assist in investigations.
