UG Retains No. 1 in Ghana, 2nd in West Africa
The University of Ghana has once again been ranked as the best university in Ghana and the second‑best in West Africa, reinforcing its dominance as the country’s premier academic institution. What We Found In the 2023 CWUR Global 2000 rankings, the University of Ghana scored 69.1, securing first place in Ghana and ranking second across West Africa—just behind the University of Ibadan, which scored 69.5. This ranking placed UG in the top 6.1% of global universities.
