Police deploy 1000 officers after Maiduguri mosque bombing

The Borno State Police Command has deployed more than 1,000 officers across Maiduguri and other key locations in the state after the bomb attack on a mosque that killed five people and injured 35 others. The explosion happened on Wednesday evening at Al Adum Mosque in the Gamboru Market area of Maiduguri while worshippers were observing the Maghrib prayer. On Thursday, the Police Public Relations Officer in Borno, ASP Nahum Daso, said the command had stepped up security measures in response to the attack. Australia says Bondi Beach mass shooting may have been ISIS inspired

Australian authorities say evidence suggests the mass shooting at Bondi Beach that left at least 15 people dead may have been inspired by the Islamic State group. Troops rescue 25 hostages arrest 10 suspects in nationwide raids

The Nigerian Army says its troops have rescued 25 kidnapped victims and arrested 10 suspects in a series of nationwide operations carried out over the last 48 hours.​ According to a source at Army Headquarters, the suspects include alleged bandit collaborators illegal miners violent extremists and a suspected arms dealer.
