An ongoing investigation by the Ghana Railway Development Authority (GRDA) and the Ghana Police Service has revealed an alleged plot by suspected saboteurs to disrupt the newly launched Tema–Afienya train service, according to a report by Graphic Online. Authorities confirmed two separate sabotage attempts this week against the Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) train — a new passenger service introduced as part of Ghana’s efforts to modernize its rail transport system. In the first incident on Monday, October 20, 2025, a 10-year-old boy was reportedly coerced into throwing stones at the moving train, shattering the front windshield.
