Tinubu Extends Surveyor-General Adebomehin’s Tenure by Two Years

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a two-year extension for the tenure of the Surveyor-General of the Federation (SGoF), Mr. AbuduGaniyu Adebomehin. According to a statement released by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, the extension will take effect from January 5, 2026, following the recent transfer of the Office of the Surveyor-General of the Federation (OSGOF) to the Presidency. The decision, the statement noted, was made to enable Adebomehin to complete ongoing reforms in key areas of geospatial data systems and national development planning. “The President expects Mr. Adebomehin to consolidate the reforms within the next two years, focusing on national land management and administration, highways and abutting land infrastructure coordination, reclamation and erosion control programmes, and other related matters of strategic national importance,” Onanuga said.
