University of Ghana Sanctions 115 Students for Misconduct & Exam Malpractice

In a June 16, 2025 notice from Registrar Emelia Agyei‑Mensah, the University of Ghana revealed that 115 students were sanctioned for various offences during the 2023/2024 academic year—covering general misconduct and examination malpractice . 1. General Misconduct 14 students suspended for two academic years under Statutes 42(1)(a) for “disorderly conduct and failure to comply with university orders,” retroactively covering the 2023/24 and 2024/25 sessions. Notable suspended students include Abdul‑Yakini Lukman and Daniel Ansah. 2. Examination Malpractice A total of 97 students received penalties ranging from Grade Z (expulsion on exam results) to Grade X for offenses such as impersonation, possession of notes or phones, and walking out with answer booklets.
