SSANU, NASU extend strike ultimatum by two weeks
The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities and Allied Institutions (NASU) have extended their strike ultimatum to the Federal Government by two weeks. The two unions, under the Joint Action Committee (JAC), had earlier issued a seven-day ultimatum over unresolved welfare issues, including the “unjust disbursement of earned allowances” and non-payment of outstanding benefits. In a fresh letter addressed to their chapters on Tuesday, SSANU President Muhammed Ibrahim said the decision followed a meeting with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Abel Enitan, on September 19, 2025.
