US Soldier Drives Through 48 States to Fight Homelessness

A Nigerian-American soldier, Yewande Fagunwa, also known as Olori Wendy, has completed a 31-day drive across all 48 contiguous US states to raise awareness about homelessness. Her journey, which began on August 1st, was a decade-long dream. To understand the plight of the homeless, she lived out of her rented car, sleeping in the driver's seat at truck stops and rest areas. The trip was challenging, with mechanical troubles and harsh weather causing delays. Beyond the drive, her mission was one of compassion. At stops along the way, she handed out cash and relief items to homeless individuals, listening to their stories and sharing her own temporary experience of living without a home. She successfully completed her tour of the 48 states, leaving only Alaska and Hawaii for a future journey.
