Kwara Gov’t Partners CSO To End Child Marriage

The Kwara State government has vowed to protect the girl-child in the state against early marriage. Consequently, the state government said it was partnering the National Coalition of Civil Society To End Child Marriage in Nigeria to achieve its goal of discouraging girl-child early marriage. The state’s deputy governor, Mr. Kayode Alabi, gave the assurance in Ilorin, the state capital, when members of the coalition paid him a visit in his office. Imo Women Advocate Gender Equity, Safe Spaces

Nigerians have been called upon to shun stereotyping and to help foster safe spaces for women and girls. The call was made at a dinner organised by Hague Institute For Innovation of Law (HIIL) in collaboration with SHE – Inspires, Lead, Develops (SHEILD) Initiative in Owerri, the Imo State capital to commemorate the 2025 International Women’s Day.
