Walewale: Two jailed five years each for stealing Immigration officer’s firearms

In a decisive legal action, the Walewale Circuit Court has sentenced two individuals to five years' imprisonment each with hard labor for stealing firearms and ammunition from an immigration officer's residence. Details of the IncidentOn May 17, 2025, Mustapha Basit, 18, and Baba Rashid, 22, unlawfully entered the home of a Ghana Immigration Service officer in Walewale while he was away. They stole a Smith & Wesson pistol loaded with ten rounds of ammunition and two CZ rifle magazines, each containing 30 rounds.
