Youth Dialogue in Jema Renews Commitment to SRHR and SGBV Prevention

A high-level youth policy dialogue on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and Sexual and Gender-Based Violence has wrapped up in Jema, Kintampo South, with renewed commitments to protect young people and improve access to youth-friendly health services across the Bono East Region. The forum, held on December 4, 2025, was organised by the Renel Ghana Foundation on behalf of AfriYAN Ghana in partnership with UNFPA Ghana and PPAG. It brought together 26 participants, including youth leaders, traditional authorities, religious leaders, artisan groups, and representatives from key state institutions. Tricycle Riders Linked to Rise In Teen Pregnancies in Central Region.

A study by the Central Region Office of the National Youth Authority (NYA) has revealed that tricycle and motorcycle riders are key contributors to rising cases of teen pregnancy, child marriage, and sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) in the region. The research highlighted a growing concern over the increase in sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in the area as well.Mrs. Anita Nana Seguah Ansah, the Central Regional Director of the NYA, shared these findings during a one-day training workshop aimed at educating tricycle and motorcycle riders about the harmful effects of these issues.
