Nvidia unveils Alpamayo platform for autonomous cars
Nvidia has unveiled a new technology platform designed to make autonomous vehicles reason more like humans, as the company deepens its push into artificial intelligence for real-world applications. Speaking on Monday at the CES technology show in Las Vegas, Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang introduced “Alpamayo”, a platform that the company says enables self-driving cars to analyse rare situations, operate safely in complex environments and explain the decisions they make on the road. According to Huang, Alpamayo represents a major step toward more transparent and reliable autonomous driving. By combining reasoning capabilities with real-time perception, the system allows vehicles not only to act, but also to justify why they act in a certain way.
