Bawumia Pledges New District for Sefwi-Wiawso to Spur Growth.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, NPP Flagbearer, has promised the people of Sefwi-Wiawso a new district to accelerate development in the region. Speaking during his campaign tour of the Western North Region, he highlighted the need to create a district from the Wiawso Municipality to boost infrastructure in Asafo and Sefwi Asanwiaso. Bawumia also cited the NPP’s track record, including Free SHS, One Ambulance per Constituency, and the Ghana Card, as reasons for re-election. He vowed to implement new initiatives such as a credit score system, loans for women’s empowerment, free tertiary education for persons with disabilities, and solar energy projects to reduce electricity bills. Chiefs in the area expressed gratitude but urged for the completion of ongoing projects.

PAC Orders Immediate Return of Misappropriated Mattresses at Sefwi Wiawso Secondary.

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has instructed that school mattresses, which were improperly taken by teachers and students from Senior High Schools (SHS) across Ghana, be immediately returned. This directive follows concerning findings in the Auditor-General's report on Pre-University Educational Institutions for the 2023 fiscal year.During a PAC meeting held in Sunyani, Sefwi Wiawso Secondary Technical School was highlighted as a major violator, with 25 individuals, including both staff and students, accused of removing mattresses without authorization.
