Post-Election Violence in Sunyani: Forestry Commission Offices Ransacked.
Tensions continue to rise in Ghana following the 2024 general elections, as reports emerge of youth looting and vandalizing properties in several regions. In Sunyani, the Bono Regional Forestry Commission offices were stormed by individuals believed to be National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters. Armed with machetes, they seized two patrol vehicles and several chainsaws, and attempted to steal additional equipment and funds.Eyewitnesses report that workers were forced to hand over personal belongings, and the invaders destroyed office doors and windows in their quest for valuables.
