In a shocking revelation, National Security officials have uncovered official Bank of Ghana (BoG) cash boxes at the center of a massive counterfeiting operation in Sapeiman. The discovery raises serious concerns over regulatory lapses and the vulnerability of Ghana’s financial security systems.During a special tour of the crime scene, Richard Jakpa, Director of Special Operations at the National Security Secretariat, confirmed that the cash boxes were genuine BoG property, leading to questions about how such sensitive materials ended up in the hands of criminals.The operation, which took place in February, uncovered one of the most sophisticated counterfeiting rings in recent years.
