Sallakope’s Struggle: A Village Vanishing into the Sea

For decades, Sallakope in the Ketu South Municipality thrived as a vibrant fishing community. Fishermen returned home daily with abundant catches, and hunger was almost unheard of. However, the once-distant sea—previously 500 meters away—has now crept dangerously close, standing just nine meters from the village.Relentless tidal waves have swallowed large portions of the land, forcing many residents into makeshift shelters.
