Police Arrest Three Salesgirls Over N29m Theft
The Niger State Police Command has arrested three salesgirls for allegedly stealing mobile phones and electronics worth N29 million from a shop at the Obasanjo Complex in Minna. The suspects, identified as Sarah Ogbonna (23), Ruth Emmanuel (23), and Mercy Ogbonna (30), were accused of conspiring with one Nurudeen Musa (32), who reportedly sold the stolen items at giveaway prices. Police spokesperson, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the arrests in a statement on Monday. He said the shop owner filed a complaint against his employee, Sarah Ogbonna, after noticing missing goods. “Upon interrogation, Sarah admitted to taking items from the shop since 2023. Although she claimed ignorance of the total value, a sum of N700,000 was immediately recovered from her,” Abiodun said.
