Meet the First Educated Man from Zambulkura in the North-East Region.
Zambulkura, a small town in Ghana's North-East Region, has long faced challenges in accessing education and healthcare. Despite various national programs aimed at improving these sectors, Zambulkura, located 20 kilometers from the regional capital Nalerigu, lacked both a school and a health facility.This changed when Maxwell Tidor Koligu, the town’s first resident to receive an education, returned home. After being sent to live with an aunt in the city, Koligu pursued his education and eventually became a civil servant. Upon returning to Zambulkura, he was enskinned as the chief and has since dedicated his resources to developing his hometown.In an interview, Chief Koligu described the dire conditions his people faced and his efforts to bring positive change.
