Army announces surrender of 80 militants in Cross River

The Nigerian Army has confirmed that 80 militants operating in Cross River State have voluntarily surrendered under the state government’s amnesty programme. Troops of 13 Brigade reported that the ex‑fighters emerged from the creeks in Akpabuyo Local Government Area and presented themselves for amnesty at the Atimbo Rear Area, Operation OKWOK.​ According to the army, the militants were drawn from two notorious camps led by ThankGod Ebikontei, alias Ayibanuagha, and John Isaac, also known as Akpokolo, whose “Border Boys” group had long terrorised waterways around the Calabar–Oron axis. Correctional service empowers Akwa Ibom inmates with starter packs

The Nigerian Correctional Service, Akwa Ibom Command, has equipped five inmates with business starter packs to support their reintegration into society and help them build sustainable livelihoods after release. American Woman Jailed 10 Years in Ghana for Bolt Driver Robbery.

An Accra Circuit Court has sentenced Skylah Leeann Marine Travis, an American woman, to 10 years of imprisonment with hard labor for robbing a Bolt driver. Her Liberian fiancé, Daniel Ireland, was also sentenced to the same term after pleading guilty to conspiracy, robbery, and stabbing the victim.The incident occurred on January 7, 2025, when the couple hired the driver to transport them from Labadi to Teshie Malik in Accra. Upon arrival, Ireland stabbed the driver multiple times and the couple fled with his car, two phones, and GHC1,000 cash.
