Zambia activates plan to evacuate citizens from Middle East

Zambia has begun formal steps to evacuate its citizens from parts of the Middle East as tensions and security risks in the region continue to rise. Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Mulambo Haimbe said the government is closely monitoring developments and has an evacuation plan ready for Zambians in high risk areas. He explained that the ministry has identified nationals who may need urgent assistance, including families in conflict prone zones, and is working with Zambia’s embassies and international partners to arrange safe routes out. Pakistan Declares “Open War” With Afghanistan

Pakistan’s defence minister has declared that the country is now in an “open war” with Afghanistan, following a series of cross-border airstrikes and military confrontations. Khawaja Muhammad Asif said Islamabad’s patience had been exhausted after fresh attacks attributed to Afghan forces. Israel launches new strikes on Lebanon

Nigerian military plane grounded in Burkina Faso over airspace row

A Nigerian Air Force C 130 transport plane carrying 11 soldiers has been grounded in Burkina Faso over an alleged violation of the country’s airspace. The aircraft was forced to land in the southwestern city of Bobo Dioulasso after what officials described as an in flight emergency while transiting Burkinabe airspace.​ According to a statement from the Confederation of Sahel States known as AES the plane had two crew members and nine passengers all of them Nigerian military personnel. Thailand and Cambodia trade fire in deadly border clashes

Thailand and Cambodia have exchanged fire in deadly clashes along their shared border leaving several people dead and many others displaced. Fighting broke out in early December around disputed frontier areas leading to artillery and small arms exchanges between the two sides.​ Authorities in both countries accused each other of firing first and violating territorial integrity.
