Hamas Hands Over Second Batch of Hostages to Red Cross

Hamas has handed over a second group of 13 hostages to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Gaza. This transfer, confirmed on Monday, is believed to include the last remaining living hostages held by the group. This follows the earlier release of seven Israeli hostages, which included one soldier and six civilians. The exchanges are part of a major ceasefire deal mediated by Egypt and Qatar, with the ICRC acting as the neutral intermediary. In return, Israel is set to release approximately 2,000 Palestinian detainees and prisoners. A separate handover of the bodies of deceased hostages is also expected to take place.

The group is also expected to return the remains of an Israeli soldier killed during the […]

According to Luka, 68 per cent of those still searching for answers are women, while 59 per cent of the missing were minors at the time of their disappearance. Yobe State alone accounts for about 2,500 cases, the majority from Gujba Local Government Area. “Behind every missing person is a family living in pain, uncertainty, and economic difficulty. The anguish is compounded by legal, administrative, and psychosocial challenges. These families deserve acknowledgement, care and support,” Luka […]
