FG declares Dec 25, 26 and Jan 1 public holidays

The Federal Government has declared December 25 and 26, as well as January 1, 2026, public holidays to mark Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year celebrations. The announcement was made in Abuja by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, through a statement issued by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani.​ Tunji Ojo extended seasonal greetings to Christians in Nigeria and around the world, and to all Nigerians.
