Congo Declares New Ebola Outbreak in Kasai 15 Dead
Congo has declared a new Ebola outbreak in southern Kasai, with 28 suspected infections and 15 confirmed deaths, according to the Ministry of Health. The outbreak began in late August when a pregnant woman in Bulape was admitted with bleeding symptoms and died within a week. Several hospital staff and laboratory workers who had contact with her later developed symptoms. Provincial authorities initially reported eight deaths, but the toll quickly rose as more suspected cases emerged.
