Matawalle at centre of FG defence reforms, says aide
An aide to Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has said the former Zamfara governor is playing a central role in driving the Federal Government’s current push to modernise and strengthen Nigeria’s defence system. In a statement, media aide Ahmad Dan Wudil highlighted a series of reforms and international engagements led by Matawalle, including efforts to deepen cooperation with global defence partners and boost local production of military hardware. He noted that the minister has represented Nigeria at major defence exhibitions, such as IDEF in Istanbul and EDEX 2025 in Cairo, where he held meetings aimed at expanding partnerships to support counter terrorism and counter insurgency operations.
