Prof. Samuel Kobina Annim Sacked as Government Statistician, Dr. Alhassan Iddrisu Appointed Acting Government Statistician
President John Mahama has appointed Dr Alhassan Iddrisu as the acting government statistician, following the dismissal of Prof. Samuel Kobina Annim. Dr Iddrisu, who is currently serving as the Director of the Economic Strategy and Research Division at the Ministry of Finance, has extensive experience in macroeconomic analysis and policy research. His appointment is effective immediately, though it is subject to mandatory consultations with the Council of State.Dr Iddrisu has a PhD in International Development Studies from Japan's National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, and he has worked in various positions related to national economic assessments and forecasting.
