A committee tasked with investigating the matter has uncovered serious procurement breaches that have been ongoing for several years.Jinapor shared a 103-page report on the matter, describing the findings as alarming, with a clear indication of irregularities that have affected the country’s energy sector. The Minister emphasized that law enforcement agencies would be involved to ensure that those responsible for the missing containers and procurement violations are held accountable.The disappearance of the containers and the associated procurement irregularities have sparked concerns about transparency and accountability within Ghana's energy sector, urging the government to take swift action.

National Cathedral Scandal: CHRAJ Calls for Contract Cancellation, Possible Prosecution.

The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has recommended a forensic audit and potential prosecution of the trustees overseeing Ghana's controversial National Cathedral project. This follows an investigation prompted by allegations from North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.The report, dated November 22, 2024, highlighted several breaches of Ghana’s procurement laws. CHRAJ found the construction contract awarded to Ribade Company Ltd to be "void ab initio," deeming it a violation of the Procurement Act. It urged the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) to cancel the contract and called on the Auditor-General to investigate the GHS225.9 million spent by May 2022.CHRAJ emphasized that the project’s legal and financial irregularities pose significant reputational risks to Ghana.
