Supreme Court Adjourns Injunction Application Against Chief Justice’s Removal Process

The Supreme Court of Ghana has adjourned indefinitely the hearing of an injunction application aimed at halting the ongoing process for the potential removal of Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo. The application was filed by Vincent Ekow Assafuah, the Member of Parliament for Old Tafo, who is challenging the constitutionality of the procedure initiated by President John Dramani Mahama. Assafuah contends that the President's action of forwarding three petitions to the Council of State without first providing the Chief Justice an opportunity to respond violates her right to a fair hearing as enshrined in Article 146 of the 1992 Constitution. Henry Herbert Malm appointed Acting Director of National Theatre

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Henry Herbert Malm as Acting Director of the National Theatre of Ghana. Malm, a seasoned communications and media expert, brings extensive experience to the role. He takes over from Amy Appiah Frimpong,  who retired in December last year.  Previously, Malm served as Head of Corporate Communications and Sustainability at Unilever Ghana PLC, driving stakeholder engagement and sustainability strategies.  He also worked as a news anchor at TV3, showcasing his media expertise.
