Ghana Police Arrest Four in Tamale Drug Crackdown, Seize Opioids
The Ghana Police Service has intensified its fight against drug trafficking in the Tamale Metropolis, arresting four suspects and seizing significant quantities of illicit substances during a special operation. The intelligence-led exercise was carried out by the Inspector-General of Police Special Operations Team and targeted known crime hotspots and high-risk areas across the metropolis. Police say the patrols, which began recently, are aimed at boosting visibility, gathering actionable intelligence, and deterring drug-related and violent crimes. During the operation, Ibrahim Abudu was arrested at Taha with Tramadol capsules and suspected Indian hemp in his possession.
