Black Stars Face Setback as Eight Players Withdraw for AFCON Qualifiers.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced on November 11, 2024, that eight players have withdrawn from the Black Stars' squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola and Niger. The withdrawals, due to injuries and personal reasons, include Inaki Williams, Tariq Lamptey, Antoine Semenyo, and others. This leaves Ghana with a tougher challenge ahead as they aim for qualification. The GFA has called up six replacements, including Osman Bukari and Ransford Yeboah Koningsdorffer. Ghana’s first match is scheduled for November 15 against Angola.
