GH₵5.7 Million Urgently Needed for Ghanaian PhD Students in the UK

The President of government-sponsored PhD students in the United Kingdom, Prince Komla Bansah, has revealed that more than GH₵5.7 million is urgently required to settle outstanding tuition fees for the 2025/2026 academic year. Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show on Monday, November 10, Mr. Bansah stated that the 36 Ghanaian PhD candidates in the UK collectively owe approximately £400,000 in unpaid tuition fees. “For the 2025/2026 academic year, which we are almost three months into, our estimate is that nearly £400,000 will be needed to cover tuition fees alone. We have submitted all the data to the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat,” he explained.
