Foreign Affairs Ministry Under Fire for Financial Irregularities

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has come under intense scrutiny before Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) over a litany of financial infractions. Allegations include unearned salaries, improperly issued imprests, missing electronics, and embezzlement—raising questions about accountability and financial governance within the Ministry. PAC Orders Immediate Return of Misappropriated Mattresses at Sefwi Wiawso Secondary.

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has instructed that school mattresses, which were improperly taken by teachers and students from Senior High Schools (SHS) across Ghana, be immediately returned. This directive follows concerning findings in the Auditor-General's report on Pre-University Educational Institutions for the 2023 fiscal year.During a PAC meeting held in Sunyani, Sefwi Wiawso Secondary Technical School was highlighted as a major violator, with 25 individuals, including both staff and students, accused of removing mattresses without authorization.
