Fire Guts Generator House in Ibadan, Major Disaster Averted
A late-night fire outbreak on Monday in Ibadan was swiftly contained by the Oyo State Fire Services Agency, preventing what could have been a devastating disaster. The incident occurred around 9:28 pm at No. 23B Iyaganku Crescent, when a generator house in a private residence went up in flames. The alert was raised through the Security Trust Fund’s 615 emergency line, prompting an immediate response from state fire officers led by Acting Chief Fire Superintendent (ACFS) Bamidele Samsudeen. On arrival, the fire team found the generator house already engulfed but managed to stop the fire from spreading to the main building and nearby properties. The Federal Fire Service, Ibadan Command, also joined the operation. No casualties were recorded, while properties worth millions of naira were saved from destruction.
