NDLEA Seizes Over 500,000 Opioid Pills in Raids Across Four States
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted 502,280 opioid pills in coordinated raids across Nasarawa, Gombe, Kano, and Maiduguri, the agency announced on Sunday in Abuja. In a statement, NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, detailed the operations: Nasarawa State: A 36-year-old suspect was arrested at Abacha Park, Mararaba Karu, with 79,040 pills of tramadol and diazepam. In a separate operation in Lafia, a 47-year-old man was caught with 30,410 tramadol and Rohypnol pills, along with 38 bottles of codeine-based syrup concealed in a freezer from Asaba, Delta. Adamawa/Gombe: On August 27, a 23-year-old suspect was arrested in Ngorore following the interception of his waybilled consignment at Gombe Mega Park.
