Six killed as Lakurawa terrorists attack mosque in Kebbi
Suspected Lakurawa terrorists have attacked a mosque in Dadinkowa community, Maiyama Local Government Area of Kebbi State, killing six worshippers and injuring three others in what police describe as a reprisal assault. Local sources said the gunmen stormed the mosque on Wednesday evening while Muslims were observing prayers and opened fire indiscriminately on those inside. Kebbi State Police Public Relations Officer, Bashir Usman, said the attack followed a failed ambush on troops of the Nigerian Army’s 8 Division, whose convoy, led by General Officer Commanding Major General Bemgha Koughna, came under heavy fire near Maiyama Hill on February 24.
