Army Vows to Discipline Soldier in Ondo Driver’s Death
The Nigerian Army has vowed to expedite disciplinary action against a soldier involved in an altercation that led to the death of a commercial bus driver in Ondo State. According to a statement from the 32 Artillery Brigade, the incident occurred on October 13th at a military checkpoint in Akunu-Akoko. The soldier was called by passengers to help them get a refund from the driver after the bus developed mechanical issues. The army stated the soldier then displayed "very uncouth and unprofessional conduct," resulting in a physical altercation with the driver. The driver was evacuated to several hospitals but sadly died on October 14th.
