Army rescues 26 kidnap victims, foils jailbreak in North

The Nigerian Army says its troops have rescued 26 kidnapped victims and foiled an attempted jailbreak in fresh operations across the North West and North Central regions.​ In a statement, the army said the operations targeted terrorist and bandit groups behind recent attacks and abductions in several communities. Troops were deployed to identified hideouts and criminal routes after receiving credible intelligence.​ According to the statement, the rescued victims were freed during coordinated raids on bandit camps and ambushes along known kidnapping corridors.
