US immigration officer shoots Venezuelan man in Minneapolis
A US federal immigration officer has shot and wounded a Venezuelan man during an enforcement operation in north Minneapolis, intensifying tensions in a city already on edge over recent immigration raids. City officials confirmed the shooting and urged residents to remain calm, while again calling on US Immigration and Customs Enforcement to leave the city and the state. According to the Department of Homeland Security, ICE officers tried to stop the man, described as “an illegal alien from Venezuela,” during a targeted traffic operation.
