Borno Man Kills Brother Over Harvest Dispute In Farm

A dispute between two brothers over mango harvesting on a farm in Benishiekh, Kaga local government area of Borno State has resulted in the death of one of them as the other brother was also hospitalised after the clash. Sources said that the incident occurred on Tuesday at about 9am when 40-year-old Kajdi Kachalla and his younger brother, Baba Goni Kachalla, 28, engaged in physical fight at their mango plantation in Ajari Area, Benishiekh. During the fight, both men inflicted serious head and mouth injuries on each other, using wooden sticks. Police operatives responded swiftly and evacuated the duo to the General Hospital in Benishiekh. However, the elderly brother, Kajdi, was pronounced dead, while Baba Goni remains under medical care. The deceased’s body was later released to his family for burial according to Islamic rites.

The Kwara State government has vowed to protect the girl-child in the state against early marriage. Consequently, the state government said it was partnering the National Coalition of Civil Society To End Child Marriage in Nigeria to achieve its goal of discouraging girl-child early marriage. Four drug kingpins: Ogbuji Christian Ifeanyi; Iloduba Augustine Chinonye; Shuaibu Nuhu Isa (a.k.a Don) and Zidon Zurga, have been convicted and sentenced to a total of 95 years in prison by the Federal High Court in Lagos and Yola, Adamawa State over trafficking of cocaine and skunk worth over N4.6 billion. Soldiers Invade Ikeja Electric Office Over Power Disconnection

Personnel of the Nigerian military have invaded the offices of Ikeja Electric in Lagos State, assaulting staff members and disrupting operations.
