Silas Onu Exits PDP, Joins ADC Over Leadership Crisis A former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State , Barr. Silas Onu , has officially resigned from the party and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) , accusing a few sitting governors of hijacking the PDP’s internal affairs and undermining democratic processes . Onu, who also ran as the PDP’s senatorial candidate in Ebonyi South during the February 4, 2024 rerun election , announced the move in a letter dated July 16, 2025 , addressed to the Obiozara Ward Chairman . “It’s with a heavy heart—but for a more patriotic reason—that I resign from the PDP with immediate effect,” he wrote.
