Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri Erewa, says Turkish officials were surprised that President Bola Tinubu’s brief stumble in Ankara became a major news topic in Nigeria. She reacted on X to a post by user Oguntoye Opeyemi, known as Equityoyo, who criticised the level of attention Nigerian media gave to the incident. Mark mourns founding editor of Newswatch magazine, Yakubu Mohammed

Former Senate President David Mark has joined other prominent Nigerians in mourning veteran journalist and Newswatch magazine co founder, Yakubu Mohammed, who died at 75. Mohammed, a pioneering editor and media administrator, passed away in Lagos after a brief illness, just months after fellow Newswatch co founder Dan Agbese died in November 2025.​ In his condolence message, Mark described Mohammed as one of the pillars of modern Nigerian journalism whose work at Newswatch redefined investigative reporting during the military era. Nigeria Can Defeat Corruption, Says EFCC Chairman

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukayode, has expressed confidence that Nigeria can overcome corruption if citizens embrace transparency and accountability. Olukayode made this call at the 12th Annual Conference of the Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN), held in Effurun, Delta State.
