NDLEA, Police Arrest 57 Suspects in Major Kano Drug Raid

The Kano Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), in collaboration with the Police, has arrested 57 suspects in a coordinated operation targeting drug hotspots across the state. The joint raids, conducted on September 24, 25, and 27, were part of the Kano State Joint Task Force for Peace Restoration and Youth Rehabilitation, led by Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim-Kofar Mata. Areas raided included Kofar Ruwa, Tashar Rami, Rijiyar Lemo, Kurna, Mil Tara, Zage, Dorayi Karshen Waya, Dawanau, and Filin Idi—all identified as hubs of drug trafficking and abuse. PSC names conference hall after late ex-chairman Solomon Arase

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has renamed its Chairman’s conference hall after the late Solomon Arase, former Chairman of the Commission and 18th Inspector General of Police. In a statement on Thursday, the PSC’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, said the newly named “Solomon Arase Hall” is located on the sixth floor of the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja. “The Police Service Commission has named its Chairman’s Hall on the 6th floor of its Corporate headquarters, as Solomon Arase Hall in honour of its late Chairman,” Ani stated. Arase, who served as IGP between April 2015 and June 2016, was appointed Chairman of the PSC in 2023 and held the role until 2024. Edo police recover N300,000 extorted from furniture maker

The Edo State Police Command says it has recovered N300,000 allegedly extorted from a furniture maker by officers attached to the Oba Market Area Command in Benin. Police Arrest 2 Suspects, Recover Stolen Phones, PoS Terminals in Kano

The Kano State Police Command has arrested two men in connection with a burglary and recovered stolen goods, including 23 mobile phones, three Point-of-Sale (PoS) machines, and other items in Gezawa Local Government Area (LGA).
