Nigeria Police Deport Wanted Chinese Gang Leader
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has deported a notorious Chinese fugitive, Mr. Dai Qisheng, to Beijing in a joint operation with INTERPOL. Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the move demonstrates Nigeria’s commitment to combating transnational organised crime. Qisheng, described as a gang leader wanted in Guizhou Province, China, for violent criminal activities, fled his country in 2024 after a warrant was issued by the Zhijin County Public Security Bureau. He was tracked and arrested in Abuja on August 8, 2025, by operatives of INTERPOL’s National Central Bureau (NCB) in Nigeria. He was repatriated to Beijing on August 15 under a coordinated framework involving INTERPOL NCB Abuja, INTERPOL NCB Beijing, and the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria.
