Airport access gates, car parks, VIP lounges go cashless – FAAN

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced that beginning September 29, 2025, all payments at its revenue points will be strictly digital. In a statement on Friday, the agency said the new policy will cover airport access gates, car parks, VIP and protocol lounges across the country’s airports, starting with Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. FAAN explained that the shift was designed to enhance efficiency, transparency, and customer experience, while aligning Nigeria’s airports with global digital payment standards. Aero Contractors Refunds ₦257m to Passengers in 8 Months

Aero Contractors has refunded over ₦257.1 million to passengers between January and August 2025, reflecting a 137% increase compared to 2024. According to data released on the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) official X handle, refunds totaled ₦257,195,724.39 in 2025, compared to ₦108,308,037.40 in 2024 and ₦32,766,652.30 in 2023. The airline also disclosed that it spent ₦6,083,229 on hotel accommodations for stranded passengers between January and July 2025.
