Nigerian Leaders Condemn Trump’s Threat, Demand Apology
Nigeria’s Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, has strongly criticized US President Donald Trump for his recent remarks against Nigeria. Trump had called Nigeria a disgraced country and threatened to take decisive action if the country did not address the killing of Christians. Jibrin, in a widely shared video, described Trump’s comments as unacceptable and called on him to withdraw his threat and apologise to Nigeria. He said Trump’s statements were un-American and violated international law, stressing that Nigeria would not tolerate such interference. Northern leaders and groups, including the Northern Elders’ Forum and Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, also condemned Trump’s remarks.
