Shirley Igwe reacts as AGN lifts suspension, vows professionalism

Nollywood actress Shirley Igwe has responded to the Actors Guild of Nigeria’s decision to lift her suspension, expressing gratitude to the guild’s leadership and pledging to uphold higher professional standards going forward. Her reinstatement follows a review of disciplinary measures imposed after a reported violent incident on a Lagos movie set in July 2025.​ The AGN’s National Executive Council had earlier announced that Igwe was cleared to resume all filming and guild-related activities with effect from October 19, 2025, after concluding its investigation. UNYF Urges INEC Chair to Remove Barriers to PVC Collection

The Unified Nigeria Youth Forum (UNYF) has urged the newly appointed Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan, to prioritise accessibility, transparency, and accountability in managing Nigeria’s electoral process. In a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja, the Forum’s National President, Comrade Toriah Olajide Filani, said the credibility of future elections depends largely on how inclusive and accessible voter registration and Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection become under the new leadership.
