Super Eagles and the ‘curse’ of the white Naija jersey
Nigeria’s Super Eagles are once again under scrutiny as fans revive talk of a “curse” linked to the team’s white ‘Naija’ jersey. Since Nike introduced the bold white design with “Naija” emblazoned across the chest, several of the team’s most disappointing results have come while wearing it, turning the kit into a symbol of squandered chances in the eyes of many supporters. The current white strip, launched for the 2024–2025 cycle, features a predominantly white base, green hoops on the sleeves and shorts, and a striking “Naija” inscription in green across the front.
